Inter-Club Match Competition
TWDCS VS E&DCS
The last Tuesday evening in May saw selected team members from TWDCS Ringcraft facing off against the team from Eastbourne & District Canine Society. Inter-Club matches used to be held between the two clubs (and others) historically but it isn’t something that has been done in some years. As such it was absolutely lovely for us to be able to welcome the team from E&DCS to our venue in Five Oak Green for the first round of the competition. Both clubs fielded teams selected from their ringcraft groups and as per normal match rules, no CC winners were allowed. The teams for each side thus consisted of 4 Puppies, 6 Adults and 2 Veterans each who then faced off in pairs knock out style. Our judge for the evening was Trish Goodyear and we would like to thank her very much for taking the time out of her evening and lending us her experience!
Results for the night were:
Best In Match – Team TWDCS’s Lynne Barham and her Pointer, Echo
Best Veteran – Team E&DCS’s Stephen Gray and his Basset Hound Maggie
Best Puppy – Team TWDCS’s Jane Whitton and her Beagle, Phoebe
Team Result:
TWDCS – 15 Points
E&DCS – 7 Points
So it looks like TWDCS won this round and so we look forward to the rematch later in the year hosted by E&DCS!

Crufts Results!
A massive WELL DONE to all of our club members for their brilliant results at Crufts last week. Every single one of you had done the TWDCS Club proud and myself and all of the committee members are so proud of you. Hard work does indeed pay off. As a club we represent a wide range of dogs and experience levels and it is so lovely to see results across the board.
Congratulations also to club member Ann Moon who was Crufts judge for Sussex Spaniels and even got herself on TV being interviewed by the great Frank Kane!
Below is a round-up of the results that I know of for sure. Please do feel free to post any I have missed as not everyone has sent results through! Photos of everyone can be seen in our Photo Gallery.
My own Elvis (Beagle) was 4th in Mid Limit Dog.
Sally Kimber and Jenny Forbes’s Chimer (Beagle) was 2ndin her Good Citizens class
Clare Miller’s Tia (Beagle) went and WON her Veteran Bitch class and went Best Veteran Bitch. This was Clare’s first Crufts and she’s only been showing for 6 months so this is a fantastic achievement!
Phoebe Herbert was 3rd in Yearling Bitch with Boo (JRT) and then was 2nd in Post Graduate Dog with Chubs (English Bulldog). Worth noting that Chubs had the majority of 2021 off after qualifying early in the year due to an injury and so this is an even sweeter placing for them as it has been a long road.
Debbie and John Willett had a successful week with their Shih Tzu with Cash being 3rd in Puppy Dog, CeeCee 2nd in Junior Bitch, Cherub 4th in Puppy Bitch, Tyson 3rd in Yearling Dog and then Bobby 3rd in Open Dog.
Michelle Salt’s little superstar Cruz (Shih Tzu) WON his MP dog class, continuing his winning streak!
Chrissie Warwick’s Shirley (Griffon) was 3rd in her Puppy Bitch class.
Ellissia East Hickman was showing her own and Karen Anderson-Ede’s dogs and had a great time with her own French Bulldog’s placing 3rdin Puppy Bitch, 3rd in Good Citizen’s Dog and 5th(VHC) in Limit Bitch. Karen’s Konation dogs achieved 1st MP Bitch (Shih Tzu), 5th (VHC) in Puppy Bitch and 4thin Good Citizens bitch with Sable (GSD).
Deborah Wilcock and Ronnie (Scottish Terrier) were 3rd in Veteran Dog.
Tom Moore’s Paisley (Bracco Italiano) was a super 4th in PG Bitch which is a great result as P hasn’t been the easiest to train but is coming right!
Sharon and Paul Bishop had a great time with their Mini Schnauzer’s. Percy was 2nd in his Veteran Dog class and Jessie was 2nd in her Limit Bitch class.
Wendy Sharp and Janet (GSD) were 3rd in PG Bitch….not bad considering she’s just come back from mummy duties!
Linda Thorogood’s Stoker (Clumber Spaniel) was on form with a super WIN in PG Dog.
Jackie Pearn and Bonnie (Boxer) also had a WIN in Good Citizens Bitch.
Julie Leadbetter and Rafa (White Swiss Shepherd) were 2nd in Post Grad Dog.
Sophie ML and Max (GSD) had a super WIN in Veteran Dog and went Reserve Best Dog!
If I have missed anyone I apologise and please list your results below but overall…what a list!
Congratulations everyone!!!!!

More details to follow on Facebook. Following the party there will be no more ringcraft sessions for the year until we resume in January 2022!
Ringcraft Sessions – September 2021
I hope everyone has had a lovely summer. August has certainly flown by!
We’re happy to say that ringcraft will be returning starting Tuesday September 7th. With the darker evenings drawing in and relaxation of restrictions classes will moving forward be held inside the hall. We will also once again be having match nights once a month on the last Tuesday of the month.
Those who were here pre-Covid will remember we had a different format to classes and with being outside we managed to bring classes forward earlier in the evening. However now with winter looming and normality returning we shall be resuming normal times for classes though for the time being we will keep it to set groups and classes running from 8-10pm as they have always done previously. We are unable to start earlier as Puppy Foundation classes will run from 7pm – 7.45pm.
Ringcraft will now start from 8pm and run until approximately 9.30pm. People are welcome to come for the whole session or only part of them as we no longer have restrictions on the numbers of people allowed in the hall..
Classes are £16 for 4 sessions and this will cover each owner for the following 3 weeks of lessons and then with the 4th week being a match night it will cover you and 1 dog for entry into the match. Any further dogs can be entered into the match separately. Owners can bring multiple dogs as part of their class fees.
Payments for sessions to be paid in advance via BACS to: TWDCS Ringcraft Section, A/C number 01044893, Sort Code 30-98-63 with the note on transfer to be ‘Ringcraft’ so we know what the payment is for. We are investigating other methods of cashless payments but at present all classes to be done by BACS and not cash.
